Advantages and Disadvantages of the Cloud

Hello readers!
How are you?

In this entry we are going to talk about the Cloud. But, what is the Cloud?
The Cloud in a space where you upload your files or photos. It’s a private online folder that makes you to forget about the storage space on your mobile phone or computer. Moreover, you can access to it whenever you want, wherever you want, you just need Internet.
If we search a definition online, we can find this:

"The cloud is a term referring to accessing computer, information technology (IT), and software applications through a network connection, often by accessing data centers using wide area networking (WAN) or Internet connectivity."

Thanks to the Internet improvement, the Cloud has become a reality. Some years ago this was unimaginable due to the speed of the Internet. But which are the advantages and disadvantages of this service?

The advantages are clear. Some servers are connected online and you, through Internet, send your data and they keep it save for you, in order that you don’t need to have them in your hard disk. If you need more space, you just need to pay a small quantity a month and you have extra space. This allows you to storage more data because you don’t have a specific limit. Moreover, you can save your files or photos quicker, because you just need to upload them and not to connect your device to your computer. In addition, some applications let you to share the content, so you can collaborate with your partners.

But as you can imagine, you can also find some disadvantages. Maybe you can be hacked and all your data gets exposed. As far as I’m concerned, your data is safe. These companies take privacy very seriously. All your data is encrypted to make sure that no one can read it. In addition, even workers don’t have access to your data. Moreover, you have your own password to access to it. It is expected that these kind of services protect your data in order to have good publicity and people want to work with them. Bu who knows? Could it be probable that someone is watching your files? What is sure is that if you keep them for you, no one will see them. A part from that, if you have all your data in a digital format, you take the risk of getting all deleted and you will lose everything you had.

Do you want to know which applications that work with the Cloud exist? The most typical ones are Google Drive, Dropbox, ITunes and One Drive, but you can find more. In my case, I use daily Google Drive and Dropbox. They work perfect for me, they help me to storage my information in folders and to share them with my partners if I need it. I have used Itunes also with my iPhone but I didn’t like it. It deleted my photos when synchronizing and it wasn’t so intuitive as the others.

Now I recommend you to see this video because
it's sooooo funny and it explains really well what the Cloud is:
